Local Diabetes Treatment Recipes
Hey Guysπππ
When I started conceptualizing this blog on Alternative Medicine, I told a friend of mine that I wanted to get some local recipes to include in it but I didn't know where to start looking for them π΅π΅π΅.
She went home and happened to mention it to her mum who recalled that she had a book lying somewhere in the house.
After rummaging through the house, she found the following book....
Who knew this existed π²π²π²π²
The next couple of posts will utilize recipes taken from the book Treatment & Cures with Local Herbs by Albertina Pavy, published by Paria Publishing.
I'm unsure if this book is still in publicationππ but if you are interested in a copy, please contact Paria Publishing.
Today's post is on local recipes to treat diabetes
A Guardian Newspaper 2012 article highlighted that diabetes was the #2 killer of persons in T&T.
Additionally, statistics provided by the International Diabetes Federation, shows approximately 140,300 persons or roughly 10% of the population was diagnosed with diabetes in 2015.
So what local recipes can we use to treat diabetes?
According to Ms. Pavy,
Recipe 1
Ingredients:
1/4 teaspoon Golden Seal Root Powder
1 cup of hot water
Method:
Place Golden Seal Root Power in hot water;
Stir and allow powder to dissolve;
Drink tea hot, twice per day- first thing in the morning and last thing at night until condition is improved.
When condition has improved, reduce to once per day.
Precaution: Do not take any other medications or injections when drinking this tea
Recipe 2
Ingredients:
3-4 sticks of Mauby Bark
1 Litre of water
Method:
Pour water into pot
Place Mauby Bark in water and bring to boil;
After boiling, allow mixture to cool;
Place in a glass bottle and refrigerate (keep bark in the mixture to achieve bitterness);
Drink 1 glass as often as required.
Recipe 3
Ingredients:
3 medium sized grains of garlic
1 celery - leaves and stalk
1 litre of water
Method:
Pour water into pot
Pound garlic, and place in water
Cut up celery and place in water
Bring water to boil and allow to reduce
Drink 1 cup every morning for 7 days. Take a 3-5 days break and repeat
Repeat as often as required
These easy and natural recipes can potentially provide a cure for the diabetes epidemic facing the land.
I have not tried any of these recipes myself but persons have told me that they are familiar with recipe #2.
I must caution that "too much of one thing is good for nothing" so be vigilant about how your body feels/reacts if you decide to try any of these recipes
Please consult your Doctor BEFORE including these recipes in your treatment plan.

ReplyDeleteI knew Ms Pavy personally. I got a copy of her book many years ago by Charran's on South Quay, Trustingly, I allowed someone to borrow it in the hope of having it returned but alas, that didn't happen.(not sure who borrowed it
ReplyDeletenow) As recent as last month, I called Charran's in Trincity and was told that the book is no longer in publication. I am so pleased that you're sharing this information. Thank you very much.
